The Fugitive, directed by Andrew Davis and released in 1993, is a gripping and suspenseful thriller that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Based on the popular TV series of the same name, the film follows the story of Dr. Richard Kimble, a man wrongfully accused of murdering his wife, as he goes on the run to clear his name and find the real killer.

At the heart of The Fugitive is a stellar performance by Harrison Ford as Dr. Richard Kimble. Ford brings depth and intensity to the role, capturing Kimble's desperation, resilience, and determination to uncover the truth. His portrayal creates an empathetic and relatable character that the audience can root for throughout the film. Equally impressive is Tommy Lee Jones as U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard, who relentlessly pursues Kimble. Jones brings charisma, wit, and a no-nonsense attitude to the character, adding an extra layer of tension and excitement to the narrative.

The film's screenplay, penned by David Twohy and Jeb Stuart, is taut and well-crafted, effectively balancing the cat-and-mouse chase between Kimble and Gerard with moments of character development and suspenseful twists. The pacing is excellent, with each scene propelling the story forward and keeping the audience engaged. The Fugitive successfully blends action, mystery, and drama, creating a compelling narrative that unfolds with precision.

The direction by Andrew Davis is top-notch, as he skillfully builds tension and maintains a sense of urgency throughout the film. The action sequences are well-executed, featuring exciting chase scenes and intense moments of confrontation. Davis also takes the time to delve into the emotional journey of the characters, allowing the audience to connect with their struggles and motivations.

Visually, The Fugitive is well-crafted, with cinematography that effectively captures the sense of danger and suspense. The use of Chicago as a backdrop adds an authentic and gritty atmosphere to the story. The film's score, composed by James Newton Howard, complements the action and heightens the emotional impact of key moments.

While The Fugitive primarily focuses on the thrilling chase and the central mystery, it also explores themes of justice, loyalty, and the lengths one is willing to go to prove their innocence. It raises questions about the nature of truth and the flaws within the legal system, all while maintaining its entertaining and fast-paced narrative.

In summary, The Fugitive is a riveting and well-crafted thriller that showcases strong performances, tight direction, and a compelling story. Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones deliver standout performances, anchoring the film with their dynamic on-screen presence. With its suspenseful plot, engaging action sequences, and exploration of themes, The Fugitive remains a classic in the genre and a must-watch for fans of thrilling cinema.

This is an epic teaming up between Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee and it is nothing short of a spectacular homage to the original movie.

This film is encompassed about with some of the best action sequences I have ever seen, and the script is very gripping. With the amazing performances from the two leading characters, this thriller is sure to keep you entertained no matter the amount of time you have watched it.

I was sat on the edge of my couch for the entire duration of this movie and for the last 5 minutes I felt the need to pee, but I couldn’t think about missing anything from this movie. This is a masterpiece of a movie.

"I didn't kill my wife!"

"I don't care!"

The dialogue between Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones was rare but an absolute delight. In fact, I think Jones won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in this 1993 classic. A quick introduction of the main man Ford playing Dr RIchard Kimble preceeds a tense and thrilling race against the authorities to prove his innocence and does not fail to deliver on all fronts.

It's a film that focuses on the "simple man" against the odds and doing what he can to avoid the Marshals rather than an all guns blazing action hero shooting their way through the problems and it's brilliant to see how he does it and with which other characters, of those he can trust, he can request help when needed.

It's easy to forget his feelings whilst on the run, I mean his wife has just been murdered but his objective of finding out who the murderer is really takes over. It's probably not on everyone's top ten film list but it probably will be at some stage, a brilliant film.
