'I Came By' is the much anticipated thriller which has had lots of coverage in the press. The film starts with the two young boys who try hard at playing slightly out there and far right winged. It doesnt gel together well and the boys leave you feeling something is a miss.. dispite best attempts.

As a thriller, it hits a bum note for me. There were a few scare moments, but they are just that with a bang or smash here and there.

Bonneville plays the part of a psychopath and whilst he gives a great performace (as always), again it doesnt quite pay off. There are gaps in the dramatics and only one scene where this comes through.

Sadly, Hugh is too nice for this role and didnt pay off in this film.

Its worth some screen time on a Friday eveing, but its not the dramatic thriller we were promised..

.. sorry Hugh, i do love your work but not in this film .

Very good thriller. We enjoyed this. Hugh Bonneville played his role really well!

I Came By is a thriller I would probably place at 3.5 stars if given the opportunity. It had the mystery, it had the actors (Bonneville and MacDonald are both coups in my book), and it had the right pace to get us to the crescendo.

Films these days are not new, they have all been done before, the only difference is the back story to certain characters and I Came By fits into that mold. Give it a go.
