My dad said his generation were stunned when this movie was released in the 80s and he says this is the best ever Star Wars movies, perhaps because he hasn’t really watched the other impressive installations yet. However, being a Millennial myself, I also consider this arguably the best Star Wars movie ever made.
George Lucas is a great director and I expected him to have produced this masterpiece but I am even more impressed when I learnt that it was actually Irvin Kershner who made this excellent movie that has stood the test of time.
This is the most matured of all the Star Wars film in term of the storyline as the storytelling is evidently more straight-forward. This is also the only Star Wars film that the makers did not cram the screen full with Aliens.
As a sequel to the original movie, it might be the greatest sequel to a movie ever made.
