I love Star Wars with a burning passion! It’s a classic that everyone should watch. That being said, this isn’t the best one of the movies. That may be because of the way Princess Leia’s character is treated. I think the she had way too much potential as a strong leader and it kinda sucks to see her, and Carrie Fisher, in such a sexist situation. The majority of the movie is based around Jabba the Hut (the giant slug thing) and his strange hangout.
Granted, the movie does introduce some pretty cool new aliens such as a weird digesting hole in the earth.
Don’t get me wrong, I am such a geek when it comes to Star Wars and you can’t just skip this movie. However, I enjoyed others much better. If you’re only aiming to watch one movie and you’re not really bothered by following the story:
Firstly – Why?! They’re soooo good
Secondly – Watch ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ or one of the newer ones (e.g. ‘The Force Awakens’.)
