On the Line wasn't nearly as tense as I had hoped but it did have its moments especially when the caller first makes his call and we discover what is at stake.
Mel Gibson did okay considering this was a role I would never imagine he would be cast for. It's a tough one too as all you're really doing is talking through a microphone, but he added his undoubted talent to the mix well and I wonder if the film would have made it this far were he not in it.
Despite the tension levels not reaching the levels I had expected, the back story for On the Line was pretty good and we do learn about our characters in a well paced manner that deviate strongly so everything builds nicely up to the finale.
I do enjoy a thriller and On the Line worked, just not to my high expectations but it is very watchable and makes for a good option on a Friday or Saturday night.
