Barbarian starts with what appears to be a simple story, girl gets to air B&B, double booked etc etc... you think it's all be done before.. but what transpires over the next hour will have you jumping in your seat.

The Director, Zach Cregger, should be credited for such a display in this film, as it certainly delivers where horror is concerned.

We found ourselves almost shouting at the screen, I was definitely scared and there were plenty of gore moments for those that like the full horror experience.

Whilst Limited in characters, it still doesn't disappoint and I would rate both the scripting and acting which keeps you gripped and entertained till the end.

Barbarian, is a must watch horror and I'm my opinion worth the 4 star rating.

Barbarian was more thriller for me than horror and it reached all the right parts if you're looking for some tense mystery. A good cast and excellent script make Barbarian a film you don't want to miss out on, UK residents will be happy at its UK release date which has been a long time coming.

Barbarian in some ways tears up the original horror thriller script in that it twists and turns the viewers in ways you don't see on screen very often, culminating in a superb ending which I can only advise you to watch as soon as you can.

Very clever film and craftily developed. Very glad I got the opportunity to watch it.

A superb cast in what I feel is one of the better organised horror-thriller films of the year so far. Yes, we're only just entering August but once this is released fans of the former genre will be pleased.

Barbarian is not just another off the shelf horrors, it has a multitude of depth and when you feel it cannot go any deeper, it does, and then at all meticulously planned angles. Fear not though if it sounds confusing, it isn't. It's more like a very long recipe with more ingredients you have laid your eyes on, but it all comes together in a perfect dish with no mess.

Zach Cregger - take a bow.
