Hellhole isn't the best horror I have watched over the last few months. We get a nice 80's vibe of Poland and there is some tidy mysteriousness to the film with good acting.
Hellhole kind of falls down after the first twenty or so minutes with not much horror or originality to shout about apart from one gruesome act by monks but I guess that's the point in this, a meek attempt at the Church and its numerous wrongs. It may as well be British Government under the red robes they wear.
The ending does get better, with a mix of Candyman's bees and Stranger Things at the same time while the final CGi is quite cool. Hellhole then turns itself into a revenge film and not one I'll likely watch again.
