Just finished watching. Great movie!
American Murderer is quite the cat and mouse chase. It follows hunky antagonist Jason Brown as he plots a series of scams to fund his luxurious lifestyle.
The FBI however are hot on his tail with agent Lance Leising, played by the recognisable Ryan Phillippe always a step or two behind.
American Murderer is a sexy look on what is based on a true story. They show Jason Derek Brown to have a good chunk of charisma as he scams on victim after the other to get what he wants. It's a great script that you keeps you hooked as things start to turn in favour of the FBI.
There is a good side to him that we do get to see, making the ending harder to take onboard but his "final" heist gives little choice but bring him down asap. If you don't know the story, make sure you watch right to the end.
If you're after something gripping that doesn't include Halloween masks and machetes then American Murderer should be one you choose without doubt. A very good crime thriller with an excellent script to match.
