One of the best twists to a film I've ever seen.
This is one heck of a movie and it is exceptional in more than one way. The movie starts slowly and I was tempted to even stop watching it at first, but I am glad that I stayed tuned until the end.
Christopher is a great director and I give him all the credit for how the movie begins to piece itself together gradually scene by scene until the end which I have to say is as unpredictable as you can expect.
This movie has a solid plot, that is also helped by some of the best acting that I have seen in a long time. Its obsession for uncovering truths is helped so much by its unpredictable nature, and in the end this is perhaps the major reason why I absolutely love to watch it like I have done two more times already.
The Prestige is packed with mystery and if I was going to write a list of top five films for twists then this would definitely be on it. You can never really go wrong with a Christian Bale film and he delivers as usual in this one as a magician with a bit of a grudge and willing to do what it takes to get his way. There's fine support from Hugh Jackman who for once gets his claws out without the metal protruding from his knuckles and then of course there is the beauty of Scarlet Johansson. A top quality film, buy it when you can.
