Neeson's films are getting worse over time.
Liam Neeson's best since Taken but from it in this predictable thriller
Languishes far behind his other work. Interesting at first then becomes predictable.
We’ve all had troubling commutes, but after watching “The Commuter”, I think it is safe to say that Liam Neeson wins this one.
Michael, an insurance salesman and ex-cop, makes the same commute every day, meets the same people and proceeds his journey in the usual commuter hum-drum. On a commute home, a mysterious stranger speaks with him and he has until the end of the line to work out the identity of a passenger under the alias of “Prin.”
“The Commuter” is a classic Neeson thriller where you’re airing your own theories whilst picking up some interesting techniques if you ever find yourself in a similar situation! The concept of the film is more original than I had expected and it contained a good balance of dialogue and action. It did dip in pace slightly but that is expected of a film of this style. However, the last third definitely had, I think, the most action and excitement.
The film has received mixed reviews but I think it is a good film to watch if you want to watch a characteristic Neeson film that has suspense, plot twists and a good dose of action scenes. It could have perhaps ‘done more’ with itself but I did thoroughly enjoy it.
It’s a commute that makes you put your own in perspective… or a commute you’d hyperbolise as your own!
