I enjoyed watching this film. I also read the book.

When his beloved grandad leaves him some clues to a mystery that can cross over different worlds and times, Jake discovers an enchanting place where a group of strange kids go to school run by Miss Peregrine. However danger soon emerges and the children have to work together to defend a world as special as they are.

It is made in 2016 but some scenes are based in WW2 (the period when the kids were around) so it goes through time between those times.

The kids’ special powers in this film are actually quite good and I found their powers quite cool.

I would recommend this film for teenagers and adults but it can be creepy at certain parts of the film.

This movie is incredible! Based in the time of WWII, the massively popular books series is brought to life as the audience follows Jake in his adventure to save the children. Asa Butterfield (as in Hugo Cabaret) may be cringy at certain moments, but he’s a great actor and portrays his character brilliantly. Each child’s ‘peculiarity’ is created with fantastic CGI and special effects.

The entire film is packed with drama, romance and magic. To put it bluntly, if you like movies filled with anything weird, you’ll love this movie. Only thing I would say is that if you’re easily creeped, don’t watch.
