Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)

This was another solid effort from Chris Columbus and goes to show you how important a good director is to a great movie.

While the first film made a good entry and still has many fans, this sequel is the one that really kickstarted the franchise. Chamber of secret does a great job of really expanding the whole Harry Potter story, bringing in so many new characters, elements, and locations.

There are some inconsistencies in the script to be honest, however, it still brings a much needed darker experience in the story and there are marked improvements from the first film here.
