I built myself up for Collide and didn't read any reviews. I was utterly disappointed in it. There just didn't seem to be enough dirty grit in the script nor the acting. It was filmed in a flimsy shaky manner to make us believe it was simply a night out in a restaurant but it never worked, especially with the unrealistic storyline. Bombs and drugs, guns and affair. Very disappointed 🙁
Collide was alright but won't be getting fantastic reviews. Was a lot a talking and wasn't very tense. The kitchen guy and the girl was good but she has a mouth on her that causes the problems. As with all American films, all the guns come out 🙁
I thought this was an excellent movie. The relationship between the busboy and waitress was the most gripping. I recommend it.
Am I only the one that thought this was poor? At first I thought, cool, it's like Boiling Point, but it was nothing of the sort. It was based in a restaurant and they could have made it tense based on talking but no, they Americanised it by putting in a drug deal, bombs, guns etc... Watch Boiling Point, not this.
This was a disappointing watch, despite the good casting. If the director was following the theme of the British film, 'Boiling Point', it needed to have a do over! Typical American style took it over the top to a point it was not believable.. crazy woman with a vengeance.. sadly did not hit the mark. ?
When we watched this it was so good 'her' managed to stop talking for two hours.. any sequels due???
The storys been seen before somewhere.. but all the same theres enough to carry the film and plenty of action
Good tense thriller
Looks like I was late to the dinner party with Collide. Great that so many others are now adding their reviews.
Going through my film notes I notice the words tense and edgy which it always a sign of a good film, or at least a film that I personally like. The script is mostly sharp but does wonder off slightly at certain points but in the main it's a thriller that is well filmed and as edgy as it is tense. A good 4 stars from me and one I would be happy to watch again in the future.
Great vibe to this film. Sound track gives it a good edge too.. A must watch!
This is definitely a stay in weekend movie!
The story begins with 6 different strangers and it's great the way you get to see what sits behind each character and their own individual story. It's nice to see Kat Graham make a return from Vampire Diaries and the other members included Gaffigan also making a superb cast. The film has a dark edge that keeps you watching and hooked to the end.
Collide was a good tense thriller. I enjoyed the dialogue between the restaurant guests with the storyline tying all the characters up well. It kept me on edge during the film and didn't need the full splatter of blood across our screens.
