7 Days in Entebbe

This is another good movie from the stables of Jose Padilha whose movies always seem to carry a political undertone. Here he artistically retells the 1976 hijacking of an Air France plane by Palestinian terrorist at the Airport in Entebbe , Uganda.

The movie has quite a thrilling setup, however, the producers created two parallel tracks and that did create some sort of distraction.

The drama at the airport does create a busy scene, complete with the eccentricities of Idi Amin (Nonso Anozie) and a conflict between the German terrorists and their Palestinian co-conspirators. The drama at the office of the Israeli ministers, military advisors and their PM is a little thrilling also. There is however, a slow pace to the movie and the director deliberately allows the 7 days at the airport to pass by slowly as they build tension into it every day.

For those with keen interest on world politics, this is a great movie to watch as it offers real compelling insight into the real event.
