I thought after watching A Deadly Mistake that I had made a mistake watching it tbh. It was very basic. Is this what's on offer if you don't have netflix/prime or cinema tickets? I swear one of the women started off using a .45 and then the production team must have thought it looked silly and gave her a much smaller gun... 🙂

Full on Hollywood this ain't, be warned.

Directed by Danny J Boyle, A Deadly Mistake is a typical type of film that he has been involved in over the last few years along the likes of B-movie's you normally see straight to TV and respectively on stream TV.

A Deadly Mistake (also known as "You'll Never Leave Me" has the acting you come to expect from these types of films, very accurate, very professional but obviously not enough to set the Oscars alight. The story is pretty good and whilst you get most of the clue in the films title there are a few surprises and twists along the way.

Although Danny J Boyle has directed some romantic TV films this is a flick of the switch and more on a par with his previous outing in "My Sisters Serial Killer Boyfriend". A little more budget for the honourable gentleman and we should see plenty of good things from him in the future.

Going back to A Deadly Mistake you have a pretty good thriller that will entertain you for the short duration and is one of those where expectations won't be high but that you'll be happy enough to have watched it.

Overall A Deadly Mistake has a good script, good direction and good acting and you can do far worse than this reasonably pleasant thriller. Some extra kudos must go to Christie Leverette for a very good performance.
