Despite having a gang of Japanese bikers and a racist theme, this movie still manages to remain one of the most serious movies of the 80s. from the people around me who have given me their opinions about this movie, it is perhaps one of the most underrated movies I have ever watched, but it still manage to remain a personal favourite and I’d not pass up the chance to watch it again.

Michael Douglas does a great job and to great lengths he does personify the loose cop of the 80s in several ways. His riding a bike along for work and talking tough to go along with his appearance of wearing a leather jacket couldn’t have been more closer to the cops of that era.

While there were different cop dramas at the time Black Rain was released, the producers of this movie still stood out by showing a different and darker side of crime in that era.
