Old classic, whilst we know the story and the end its still a great sunday afternoon watch ?
Well sequels always suffer from heavy criticisms and this one hasn’t survived it. While we criticize we have to bear in mind that it wasn’t the same person who produced the same movie and the storylines are different.
This is obviously not as good as the first installment, but it is way better than the 3rd of the series which left me so disappointed that I regretted watching it.
The actors here were great, the story is interesting, and the special effect was arguably a little better than that of the first movie. The sharks here were also realer and they appeared at just the right time. This comes highly recommended from me.
Roy Scheider reluctantly agreed to take part in Jaws 2, perhaps regretably too. Where Jaws focused on three men against water beast, Jaws 2 decide to go down the teen route in 1978 and it simply didn't work as well.
Not only do we have a collection of screaming teens on boats that make you want to kill the volume, it also makes you want to be on the side of shark. The camera work on the shark is too much aswell. Whereas in Jaws we saw glimpses which made it more intriguing, Jaws 2 simply shows too much of it and it becomes a case of just wanting to see who it will kill next.
There are the some scenes which will be classed as classic in time if not already with some good shocker moments and a great piece whereby the huge great white bites both more than it can chew and for a short giggle, a helicopter, yes, a helicopter.
