Needless to say this is an accomplished movie produced by one of the best producers to have ever graced the earth. If you are looking for some terror and want something that would really get under your skin, look no further than this masterpiece by Steven Spielberg.
This movie has it all, from an amazing producer, to outstanding individual performances, as well as one of the most iconic graphics. It is also well scripted, and you will struggle to find a flaw in Jaw even if this is not your kind of movie.
The music also adds so much life to the movie, and I don’t think anyone under the age of 12 can survive the terror that this movie comes with.
Despite the outdated special effects, I have not been in the sea since watching it many years ago.

‘Jaws’ is a compelling film which still holds up for the most part after all these years. It is no wonder that this film was the first blockbuster; it has every quality that you would expect from a film labelled as such.
When I watched this among others today, people laughed at the shark - which, prior to watching, I had expected to do too. However, when it came to actually viewing this film, I was too involved in the story and the characters to care that the effects may look old-fashioned. The other element which really impressed me was the music. With only a few simple notes, shivers are sent down your spine and you know that something bad is about to happen.
My only criticism is that it has aged. When people around me began to laugh, it made me realise how it does fall behind on some of today’s standards. Despite this, I found that overall, ‘Jaws’ is a compelling film which still holds up for the most part after all these years. It is no wonder that this film was the first blockbuster; it has every quality that you would expect from a film labelled as such.
Definitely the best out of all the Jaws movies! A pure classic and never tire from watching this! It created my fascination with sharks from an early age!
Some films change the way people act and Jaws certainly did that do beach goers. Nothing wrong with going to the beach and lying in the sun for a little while before enjoying a nice cool dip in the ocean is there? Well with Jaws it means there's a pretty big Great White Shark swimming about and it's hungry.
Not only does the film add some serious grit to swimming in the sea but the acting from the likes of Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss really adds to some of the best out at seas moments ever filmed. With some fantastic action sequences and just enough of the shark to keep you rooted down on your sofa the final hunt for the shark is nothing short of classical and with one of the best finishing kill lines ever will remain as one of those films that will continue to shock, scare and make you think twice before getting into the water!
