Zoombies 2 is a campy horror-comedy film directed by Glenn Miller and released in 2019. As a sequel to the original Zoombies (2016), this movie continues the premise of a zombie outbreak among animals at a safari park. While it embraces its B-movie roots and offers some laughs, it falls short in terms of overall execution and storytelling.

The story revolves around a group of individuals who find themselves trapped in a safari park overrun by zombified animals. As they fight for survival and search for a way to escape, they must contend with a variety of deadly creatures, ranging from zombie monkeys to undead giraffes.

The film's strengths lie in its campy and over-the-top nature, leaning heavily into its low-budget charm. The absurdity of seeing zombified animals wreak havoc creates some unintentional humor and delivers moments of so-bad-it's-good entertainment. Fans of cheesy horror films may find some enjoyment in the film's intentionally ridiculous premise.

However, Zoombies 2 suffers from several significant shortcomings. The overall production value is noticeably low, with subpar visual effects that often come across as cheap and unconvincing. The writing and dialogue also lack depth and originality, relying on clichéd horror tropes and one-dimensional characters. This limits the viewer's ability to become fully invested in the story or its protagonists.

The acting performances in Zoombies 2 are generally average, with most of the cast delivering wooden and unremarkable portrayals. While the characters are meant to be archetypal and somewhat disposable, their lack of development and engaging personalities make it difficult to connect or empathize with their struggles.

Additionally, the pacing of the film can be uneven, with stretches of slow or uneventful moments interrupted by sudden bursts of action. This inconsistent rhythm hampers the overall flow and engagement of the story, making it difficult to sustain genuine suspense or excitement.

Visually, Zoombies 2 fails to impress. The CGI effects used to portray the zombie animals often appear artificial and lack the necessary level of realism to sell the horror. The cinematography and production design do little to elevate the film's aesthetics, resulting in a rather bland and uninspired visual experience.

In summary, Zoombies 2 is a campy and low-budget horror-comedy that embraces its B-movie nature. While it may provide some amusement for fans of cheesy and over-the-top films, its shortcomings in production value, writing, and character development prevent it from reaching its full potential. It's a film that's best approached with low expectations and a willingness to indulge in its absurdity.
