Just like the original, I have read mostly negative reviews about this 2018 installment of Overboard, and just like the original movie, I think this is a great movie to watch especially if you don’t mind having a good laugh.
The old movie got some stick when it initially came out, yet today, it stands out as one of the most interesting classic movies of all time and for good reason too. This movie is one of the most impressive remakes ever made by Hollywood.
It is funny, witty, clean and perhaps most importantly true to the original. The producers did a great in selecting the characters and that is made evident by how close Derbez is to Hank Azaria in terms of resemblance. Goldie Hawn also came to my mind when I saw the acting of Faris. I also loved Spanish scenes, but to be honest I thought it was too much eventually.
