This movie is a solid follow up to Fast Four and it has many things that makes it easily one of my favourite movies to watch.
First of all, shooting it in the ganglands of Rio in and around the overcrowded slums of the Brazilian city gives it a refreshing outlook. In this dingy setting, the speed chases and the shootings are a joy to behold.
Another part of this movie that is really exciting is the battle between two giants, Dom Toredo (Vin Diesel) on one hand and Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) on the other hand. The eye to eye confrontations and physical altercations constantly transpiring between them is as delightful as they come.
There is also enough races to keep you hooked to your seats as you watch. This is perhaps the best of all the series so far.
Perhaps one of the more cinematic in the Fast and Furious franchise and one that takes adult version of the Scooby Doo gang to Rio in Brazil. Bringing in Dwayne Johnson works in this instance and probably freshens things up quite nicely as they go head to head with each other before teaming up to face a top end gangster.
The stunts are of course unrealistic but much better than other instalments with more of a focus on cars as per the original rather than tanks, planes and anything else you can think of driving whilst blowing things up.
The storyline is much neater and tidier without having to think too deeply and it's probably one of the more comical action films in the franchise. On the whole it's well worth the watch and if you haven't had time to watch those after Furious 5 then you'd be well advised to watch this one first.
