Very good, very funny. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, which started streaming just today is an inherent compilation of all the tiny stories and anecdotes during the course of Alfie Yankovic.
Daniel Radcliffe is delightful in his portrayal of Yankovic and I convulse at the thought of how much he had to study for the role. I fully expect he earned his keep preparing for this film.
It's a comical biography of a man as famous for his music and child entertainment as he is infamous for his very idiosyncratic behaviour later on in life. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is narrated throughout which is useful and each Yankovic as we see him growing up towards the full Radcliffe have been excellently cast.
There's a hilarious scene where Yankovic decides to play his accordion in front of bikers and rockers, and an outrageous diner scene that imagination quickly changes to something more like a Bruce Lee film that leads to a humorous altercation with Pablo Escobar.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is hugely entertaining. It has a bit of something for everyone and will likely be watched a lot over the weekend. Be sure to make this film part of your weekend plans if not already.
