Lara Croft is searching for the truth about her dad’s disappearance; this adventure pushes her to the very limits of her being.
Angelina Jolie played the previous Lara Croft from the early 2000s; it may be an understatement to say she did a fantastic job at the time. However, with reboot of the game in 2013, we now believe it was time to shift the focus from Croft being a sex symbol to more of an adventurer.
This shift made the role more difficult for Alicia Vikander to impress. However, the Oscar-winning actress does take on the role well and did such a great job that makes almost no-one try to compare her with her predecessor.
There is less superhuman ability and emotional vulnerability in this version of Lara Croft, and Vikander does a good job of showing us that Lara Croft have grown from a naïve girl to a courageous woman who isn’t afraid of taking any risk.
This is a good movie to reboot the ‘Tomb Raider’ franchise and help introduce Alicia Vikander as the new Lara Croft.
