This has to be the best Disney Channel film. Descendants is another great film from the same team but I think this one is better.
I started to love all of the High School Musical films when I was younger and I still love the series.
It is about a successful basketball captain (Troy) and a smart maths student (Gabriella) who meet at a New Year’s Eve party and start singing karaoke. When Gabriella transfers to Troy’s school, they are reunited and they both sign up for a school musical although, a jealous student (Sharpay) tries to spoil their plans and tries to stop them from singing.
Zac Efron sounds a bit different in this film than Greatest Showman but his singing is still good in this film.
Breaking Free is the best song from the soundtrack and I myself ended up singing the song.
In my opinion it is a brilliant film that the whole family will enjoy.
Hmmm... if you're into musicals then this might float your boat. I found it a bit too teeny even for a film that has High School in the title. They also seem to sing about anything and everything and it's not always related to the actual story. It's worth a watch but not one worth buying on dvd.
I grew up watching the "High School Musical" trilogy and I believe that it was and still is one of the best Disney Channel movies that were ever made. It really was the ‘start of something new’. If, like me, you fell in love with the film at a young age you would understand where I’m coming from. The story begins at a New Year ’s Eve part where two strangers, Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) meet and sing Karaoke. They end their meeting there, only to discover that Gabriella will be attending Troy’s School at East High in the new term. For “Greece” fans reading this, it may seem like a familiar plot but it is still one of the most iconic films on Disney Channel.
Troy Bolton- a star basketball player. Gabriella- a maths genius. It seems unlikely that these two would develop a passion for singing, right? Sharpay ,the popular girl who, wants to win over Troy (of course) and being the “villain” in this film, she tries to sabotage everything and get in the way of their singing. The two start annoying those around them, just because they want to sing- they even plan to enter the showcase together! Maybe everyone should just ‘stick to the status quo’.
The film was released in 2006 and it was popular then for my generation and still is. You can’t beat it! What’s better than watching a film you loved growing up and still knowing every single word to every single song? The songs are catchy and possibly some of the best ones that have ever been in a kids’ film. “Breaking Free” will always be one of the best and most iconic songs in Disney channel film history. Modern producers, you should ‘get’cha head in the game’ if they want to beat this!
All puns aside, I would recommend this film for practically everyone! If you like Basketball, watch it; if you like singing, watch it! “High School Musical” is a great family film for all to enjoy and you’ll love every minute of it!
You know a film’s good when it has a sequel and the second one is even more ‘fabulous’. I would happily watch this film all the time and I recommend that you watch the trilogy ASAP!
Being the ninth most expensive film ever made with a budget of about $260 million, Tangled is a 2010 Disney Animation classic. This is the story of a beautiful young princess, Rapunzel with magical long blonde hair that is capable of rejuvenation. Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore) was stolen from the palace nursery at infant and locked in a tower by Gothel (voice of Donna Murphy) who used the power of the magical hair to keep herself young. Rapunzel is curious to experience the outside world with her chameleon. She gets her chance on the occasion of her 18th birthday when rogue Flynn Ryder (voice of Zachary Levi) climbs into her tower seeking escape from pursuers.
This movie is funny, interesting and the animations were stunning to see. However, the message seems to be more twisted than many people would notice. How would a mother so not love Rapunzel even when she keeps telling her I love you? Sounds too dishonest for me and I wonder what my kids learnt from it.
During the winter break at a ski lodge, Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) – star athlete high school junior – makes a connection with nerdy Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) at a holiday karaoke party. Following her transfer to East High School, Gabriella reconnects with Troy at an audition for the upcoming school musical. Both must struggle to pass the auditions against the schemes of jealous Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) to crush their chances whilst also meeting their individual responsibilities at school. The 2006 American musical film written by Peter Barsocchini and directed by Kenny Ortega is the first part of the High School Musical trilogy and went on to become the most successful production of the Disney Channel Original Movie.
I watched this while I was just starting college and I have to admit that it was one of the best dance movies I have ever seen. Everything from the storyline, costumes, actors, and songs were absolutely fabulous, this gets a 5 star rating from me.
