From Lila Neugebauer we have this very good drama about a female US soldier who receives a brain injury whilst on duty. On her return home she really struggles to match reality with what her brain is telling her.

Jennifer Lawrence just gets better and better. She astonishes in this role and it would surprise me to see her nominated for an Oscar in some capacity for this performance.

Causeway does get a little wishy-washy, and as a viewer I struggled to see what direction it was supposed to be going in, this was backed up by the fact that I discovered Causeway was written by no fewer than three writers. When you have that many writers putting ideas into a serious film you will get odd tangents.

Lawrence I feel does carry this film, her recollection of what happened to her convoy in Afghanistan is harrowing and will resonate with many soldiers. She has a good support network around her in Causeway which is good to see, how true that is relative to all our injured troops I don't know.

I feel Causeway will be very relatable to those in the military and it's a tough hitting drama worthy of a watch, both for Lawrence's performance, and her character, Lynsey's emotions and struggles.
