Not Pitt's best. Movie got quite full-on and did not make much sense. Cool site btw
I expected more from a Brad Pitt film. Very disappointed?
Bullet Train was good fun and takes the mick slightly. Imagine Under Siege 2 but with about five or six Steven Segal's on there instead of just one, then add more talking and you're probably just about right.
It's not Pitt's finest film although there are other stars in this that you could suggest take the limelight. Bullet Train is a film you will enjoy if on one of your streaming sites like Prime for example but you will feel a bit hard done by if you pay $50 at the theater.
Before I review any film I always write a little on what I expect from it based on the actors and rumoured budget. Bullet Train was supposed to be high octane, at least that is the two words I had circled a few times on my note pad.
Unfortunately the only thing high paced was the train they were on. I didn't laugh much and the number of characters involved, who we learn very little about given the two hours we get, are confused and mismatched. The acting and action sequences went well as you would expect spending circa $90m.
I had to spend similar on a flight to US to watch this and it has made me want to read the book, translated from Japanese, by Kōtarō Isaka more than watch Bullet Train again.
If you rate films like Face/Off highly then it's well worth the cinema ticket. If you're being dragged along by a partner to watch then some sublime clips of Tokyo may make it worth the visit.
