This movie is intensely gore and has everything you would expect to see in a slasher movie. One of the first horror movies I ever watched was Blade and this one just has the right amount of bloodletting and decapitations, and even more distressing, humans are the victims.
However, as a sequel to the original Blade, I expected much from this installment especially after the success of its predecessor. This one ended up being without the kind of antagonists which the first installment had so it lacked a new dimension or thrill that would have bettered Blade.
Wesley Snipes tries to be funny, but he could have been more than he was here, the same goes for most of the characters perhaps only Ron Perlman stood out from them as an evil vampire hitman.
This could have been a lot better but the fact they got the vampires to join up with Blade really put me off and to be honest he could have managed it on himself anyway. They chose to show that even some vampires can be good and have good natured feelings.
At the end of the day though it's simply another excuse for Blade to get his blade out and kill more vampires plus a scary hybrid type creature that has even the two fanged draculas scared. No where near as good as the first but loyalists of the character will find more in it than most.
