This is one of the most entertaining animated films ever made and the storyline is also very sweet. The producers were smart in first using the Shakespeare’s Hamlet story, and secondly in using the Lion which is one of the most beloved animals on the planet.
Almost everything in this movie contributes to why I have fallen in love with it and why it is one of my favorite movies till date. The soundtrack has been criticized in some quarters, but I absolutely love it, the voice over acting is one of the best ever, and the animation is almost perfect, what more can I ask for in an animated movie?
I think this might be the best ever animated movie made by Disney and I know how much that means, but I absolutely love this movie, I never get tired of watching it.
It’s an absolute disgrace that I had gone 17 years of life without having seen this classic. It is clear why ‘The Lion King’ is a favourite of many people - I watched this on a plane, with bad sound quality and a small screen, and yet I could still appreciate it. It held up even under bad viewing conditions, and is easy to see why this is considered one of the best animated films of recent years (or, perhaps, ever).
The opening sequence is one of my new favourite animated scenes - or maybe one of my favourite scenes in general - I love animals and always have done, and the visuals, music and the community that is conveyed in that beginning made me tear up.
Although I cannot say that I felt as connected to the characters as I have in other films, this was still a touching story and I was intrigued by the narrative.
