Tiffany Toney, an actress and film producer, hails from Honolulu, Hawaii, and proudly embraces her Black and Indigenous heritage. With a diverse background, she brings a unique perspective to her work in the entertainment industry. Before venturing into film, Toney had a remarkable athletic career as an NCAA All-American and professional softball player for the Bern Cardinals in Switzerland. Her athletic prowess runs in the family, as she is the niece of former heavyweight boxing champion, James Toney.
Born in Hawaii and raised in Texas, Toney developed a passion for martial arts during her childhood. She studied martial arts while simultaneously pursuing her education. Toney attended The University of Oklahoma, where she studied Film & TV Production, and later earned a Masters of Fine Arts from Bowie State University in Maryland. Her educational background laid a solid foundation for her future endeavors in the entertainment industry.
Tiffany Toney began her professional journey in the world of news and journalism, working as a writer/producer for prominent outlets such as NBC News 4, WUSA 9 News, and America’s Most Wanted. She then delved into the realm of theater, honing her craft through the Meisner technique and studying under esteemed acting coaches like Aaron Speiser, Ivana Chubbuck, and the Creative Arts Studio in D.C.
As an actress, Toney has had the privilege of working alongside notable talents such as Eric Roberts, Jeff Goldblum (in a Disney project), Tim Russ, Noel G, and most recently Omar Gooding. Her performances have garnered recognition and praise within the industry.
In addition to her acting career, Tiffany Toney has made significant strides as a producer and sales agent for film distribution. She has also authored a best-selling book titled “The Beauty of Your Strength” in 2020, which can be found on Amazon.
Living in Los Angeles, California, Toney continues to thrive as she writes, produces films, and immerses herself in various aspects of the industry. Her dedication extends beyond the screen, as she also trains in boxing and fight choreography with notable figures such as Chyna McCoy (known for her work in The Matrix) and boxing Hall of Famers Buddy McGirt, Kenneth Whack, and James Toney.
One of Toney’s remarkable achievements is her first written feature film, “BORA,” in which she stars alongside Ajima Cole. The film has received distribution through Amazon Prime and was recognized at the 2023 Essence Film Festival.
