Italian woodcarver Geppetto makes a puppet which is brought to life by a blue fairy, hoping to live it’s life with as much adventure as possible.

Could have been a lot different, watch if free.
Sadly just an updated version of the much better original, nothing new here apart from those acting in it.
I was part of a conversation recently regarding Robert Downey Jr who was working on a version of Pinocchio. I was hoping this would be it but alas, no cigar. So if not Mr Downey Jr who else? Well Disney always go big when it comes to "big" films and they've brought in Tom Hanks to start which is never a bad thing, in fact you could state that with a beard he fits the bill perfectly as Geppetto. Then we have Robert Zemechis as director, not a bad shout at all.
As with all Disney hits they've not held back with Pinocchio here, giving us the full adventure from start to finish including all the emotions we know so well from the original. Jiminy Cricket gets a CGi makeover and our fairy has gone "more diverse".
Whether this version stands the test of time only time will tell. Is it better than the original? I would be hesitant to say yes, but for all of the above you do a get a great Disney film that is worthy or your attention.
