One of the funniest films I've seen in a long time. Horrifying true story though.
It is shocking how lowly this movie is rated the world over by the so-called critics. It makes me sick to my stomach to see this movie ever rated low especially because I consider watching movies pure entertainment.
As far as being entertaining goes, this is hands down one of the best movies ever shot. I have watched it at least 15 times, and every time I get bored and want something to cheer me up, Pain and Gain is one of the first movies that come to my mind.
I have never really rated Mark Wahlberg, but in this movie he made me go after some of his other works. This is a ridiculously entertaining movie and the use of likeable stars makes it a beauty.
This is hilariously funny and I didn't even know it was based on a real life story till the end. The actors make it what should be a serious crime film into a decent comedy where three body builders with little IQ try and take a mans life over and steal all his money, but as amateurs everything goes wrong towards the end. Ed Harris is in this too as a former policeman turned detective who does really well but Wharlberg steals the show for me, something about his facial expressions that have me giggling.
