My Neighbor Adolf is a good dark comedy that delivers on most fronts and has the rare quality of being unique. We have heard of stories that Adolf Hitler survived, and escaped World War 2 rather than committing suicide in his Berlin bunker and My Neighbor Adolf uses this to great effect.
Polsky, who lives in South America is certain that Adolf Hitler is alive and well as his neighbour but he is disbelieved by all so he goes on a mission to get the evidence himself by befriending him.
My Neighbor Adolf then leaves a trail of dark humor that will have you laughing at the same time as wondering if it really is Hitler. There are clues suggesting he could be as we're led on somewhat of a slow paced chase to find out as they build their own relationship.
It's the creeping around his house most nights that I found most amusing, coupled with the dialogue between the two of them which is engaging. We also have a few instances with "Adolf's" dog, which is a German Shephard of course.
My Neighbor Adolf has a very interesting end which I would love to spoil for you but won't. Be certain to watch this as you don't want to miss out.
