Hostiles

This is one of the best historical movies I have watched. Christian Bale did well to play an emotionally struggling Joseph Blocker, and Rosamund Pike also does well as Rosalie Quaid. You’d almost not know it was Bale who played Joseph Blocker as he completely disappears into that role as an angry Army Captain.

Pike also does well in bringing out enough grief for a traumatized but strong woman as Rosalie.



Although Wes Studi does well as Chief Yellow Hawk, if you know him for the stoic types and ruggedness of his performance in some other movies, you would wish he had done more.



While the characters did their best to make the movie great, the over two hours runtine seems a bit too much and sometimes you might catch yourself losing interest in the movie. This movie seems like a good overview of its real subject matter.
