A mother and daughter move to a new town under mysterious circumstances and it quickly becomes apparent the daughter will do anything to become the “homecoming queen”.

The casting is off. The teenage daughter Elle
looks about 30. It kept throwing me off as the stylist kept putting Elle on headbands and wearing backpacks to make her appear younger but she's obviously too old to play this character. Bad casting can throw off an entire movie that had potential. Maybe she's someone's relative or girlfriend because it's obvious that it wasn't based on real ethics.
Good thriller considering the budget it looks like they had.
Was ok. Watchable.
I found Dying For A Crown to be watchable yet probably forgettable long term, and that's probably the idea. Not all films are made to be box office cult hits. It's a teeny type film but with adult flavour mixed in.
The acting is more than acceptable for what they have to work with and it is one of those you would stick on whilst channel surfing rather than fight your way for the remote control to stick on.
