I found The Stranger absolutely riveting. I was aware of the true story but only as roughly as what the news agencies gave us.
Sean Harris is always fantastic but he moulded himself into this role as antagonist effortlessly, his voice, as usual, able to fill a cigar smoke filled room. A big thumbs up has to go to Joel Edgerton too, he performed brilliantly.
The Stranger is a gritty and darkly twisted film and it keeps you guessing, even if you know the full story inside-out, there will be surprises that will challenge you, and when you think things have covered, another sharp turn comes at you at 100mph.
Director Thomas M. Wright has done a very good job with The Stranger, putting all the pieces together with tension and music to the whole cast justice. If you're stuck for a thriller anytime soon then The Stranger will fill the gap and impress you.
